CUT/COPY – HEARTS ON FIRE (Electro/Dance Punk – Australia)
Originally from the beautiful city of Melbourne, Australia, the band Cut/Copy is fronted by Dan Whitford, a DJ / graphic designer who started the project in 2001 with the release of the EP 1981 on Modular Recordings (see label links on the right).
In 2004, Dan Whitford, together with his acolytes Tim Hoey, Mitchell Scott and Bennett Foddy, released their first LP Bright Like Neon Love to great reviews. Bennett Foddy subsequently dropped the band before they started touring extensively.
Cut/Copy’s latest album In Ghost Colours (2008, Modular) entered the Australian charts at number one and has awarded the band commercial and critical success. Check out the video to “Hearts on Fire”, which is the first single off the new LP!
