ANNIE – DON’T STOP (SynthPop – Norway)
It seems Annie’s perpetually delayed second album will finally see the light of day in October. If we are to believe Annie’s latest blog on MySpace, indie label Smalltown Supersound will be giving Don’t Stop a European release on October 19th (US – November 17th). The record includes collaborations with Richard X, Timo Kaukolampi, Paul Epworth, Brian Higgins, and Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos. Bad news is her last single ‘Anthonio’ will not be included on the LP and neither will the Stacey Q cover ‘2 Of Hearts’. This decision is quite bewildering and we frankly fail to understand the strategy behind it here at umstrum||music.
Thankfully there is good news, the new single off Don’t Stop is the delightfully disco ‘Songs Remind Me Of You’. Just like the aforementioned killer single ‘Anthonio’, this new track was produced by Richard X and you can really feel his electro/disco touch. You can download ‘Songs Remind Me Of You’ on iTunes and you can also have a look at the ‘Anthonio’ EP.
