After a busy summer performing at key festivals such as Bestival, Parklife and Lovebox, Bristol-based production duo Icarus return with new track “They Are Not Like You”. This emotionally charged cut sees the brothers further refining their skills, building on the sound they developed on recent tracks “October” and “Home”.
“They Are Not Like You” kicks off with a simple looped refrain and this hypnotic voiced slowly gives way to the main vocals. The lush production features a burbling distorted bassline and Icarus’s trademark syncopated live percussion. The result is one of their finest moments to date, further cementing their sound.
Icarus will be announcing a new autumn tour very soon. Follow them on Facebook for more info and check out their music on SoundCloud. Buy the new single on

Hot on the heels of their recent remixes for Bat For Lashes and SG Lewis, British act Icarus have released a brand new track ‘October’, which represents the latest development from the Bristol-based production duo. Inspired by the sprawling nocturnal vibe of their recent sets at Fabric, ‘October’ takes a different approach from the brothers’ recent tracks – ‘Home’ (featuring Aurora), ‘Don’t Cry Wolf’ and ‘Ride This Train’ – by stripping their soundscape back to a deep house essence which ebbs and flows with creative dynamic peaks.
Icarus have already received press support from DJ, Mixmag and Bristol Live and other influential artists have also recognised their talent, with Kölsch, Lane 8 and Dave Dresden all providing remixes of Icarus’s original tracks. Their festival dates throughout the summer include Boardmasters, Glass Butter Beach, V and Bestival.

Based in Leipzig, Germany, Daniel Goldstein is Lane 8, a DJ / producer / songwriter whose cross-genre approach redefines the boundaries of house music. His singles have repeatedly topped the Hype Machine charts and his remixes for Eric Prydz, Above & Beyond and most recently Odesza have shown a knack for appealing to both mainstream and indie crowds, as well as his deep house base.
What sets Lane 8 apart from the crowded dance music scene is his ability to craft music that succeeds both in the club and on the iPod – a skill that has landed him widespread support from the likes of The Magician, Annie Mac and Pete Tong, who named him a “Future Star”.
Lane 8’s debut artist album, Rise, was released last July via Anjunadeep, one of the hottest electronic labels in the world, with Goldstein himself jokingly describing it as “dreamy back-rub house.”
