MGMT, formerly named “The Management” (this name was already used by another artist so the band shortened it to “MGMT”), is an American musical duo based in Brooklyn, consisting of Ben Goldwasser and Andrew VanWyngarden.
Their debut record, Oracular Spectacular, was produced by Flaming Lips’ producer Dave Fridmann. It’s synthy and poppy but still quite elaborate and indie… A real feast for the senses!
MGMT - Time To Pretend
NME said: “For all its musical philandering, unbridled excess and shrouds of irony, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a record with more musical depth and warmth all year than this one”.

Laura Veirs is a singer-songwriter, who grew up in Colorado and then moved to Seattle and Portland. She put out her own self-titled album Laura Veirs, recorded live and featuring just her and guitar, in 1999. She has since made five highly acclaimed records with producer Tucker Martine.
2003 saw the release of Troubled by the Fire, a full-band effort that found the artist sharing the studio with such luminaries as Bill Frisell and violist Eyvind Kang. She signed to Nonesuch Records the following year with the atmospheric follow-up Carbon Glacier. Year of Meteors followed in August of 2005.

LCD Soundsystem is the musical side project of producer James Murphy, co-founder of New York City dance-punk label DFA Records. Formed in 2001, the music of LCD Soundsystem can be described as a mix of alternative dance and post punk, along with elements of disco and other styles.
LCD Soundsystem gained attention with its first single, “Losing My Edge”. The song, which sounds like the boastings of a music geek put to an electronic beat, received great reviews in 2002. Murphy released a double album simply titled LCD Soundsystem in February of 2005 to critical acclaim.
