EHLA – PAUSE (SynthPop/RnB – France)

After a promising debut EP and a viral single (“Pas d’Ici”) that was featured in Netflix’s Emily in Paris, French singer songwriter Ehla took time to regroup and create a first album that was a entirely her own. The singer has managed to impose her musical views and her style between 90s pop and warm r’n’b.

Clocking in at 32 minutes, Pause includes 11 tracks with multiple sounds and producers, and it reflects what makes this young artist tick. “My dad made me listen to a lot of music very early on, a lot of Motown, soul, funk”, she explains as she goes on to list some of her influences: Ella Fitzgerald, Lauryn Hill or Stevie Wonder.
