VERONICA MAGGIO – JAG LOVAR (Indie/Pop – Sweden)

While she may not be very well know outside Scandinavia, singer-songwriter Veronica Maggio is nothing short of a pop superstar in her native Sweden, shifting hundreds of thousands of records and selling out concert halls and stadiums on a regular basis.

“Jag Lovar” (in English, “I Promise”) is taken off Maggio’s fourth studio album Handen I Fickan Fast Jag Bryr Mig (Universal Music). Preceded by hit single “Sergels Torg”, her new album was released in October 2013 and shot straight to #1 in Sweden and #2 in Norway, confirming Maggio as one of Scandinavia’s most popular artists.

Bonus track: “Dallas” performed live on DR’s Store Juleshow

LA BIEN QUERIDA – 7 DÍAS JUNTOS (Indie/Pop – Spain)

La Bien Querida is the alter ego of Spanish songstress Ana Fernández-Villaverde, who has already released four albums via Madrid-based indie pop label Elefant Records. New tune “7 Días Juntos” is taken off her fifth studio album Fuego, released in October 2017, and it features guest vocals by Joan Miquel Oliver, singing lyrics translated from his 2009 single “Dins Un Avió De Paper”.

Talking about her new album, Ana explains: “This album talks about the desire that defends life, pleasure, self-fulfillment, freedom. The process of living through our desires, which are not dark or confusing but light and clear”.

PANAMA – HOPE FOR SOMETHING (Alt/Indie – Australia)

Panama is the moniker of Sydney-based electronic pop producer Jarrah McCleary. His most recent EP, Hope For Something, is another signature Panama release, with songs like “Hope For Something” and “The Highs” containing huge anthemic choruses and powerfully poetic lyrics that draw from his rich personal experience.

As a singer, songwriter, producer and instrumentalist, Jarrah McCleary has the rare ability to blend raw emotional songwriting and lush synth-heavy production in his music. It’s a skill that allows him to paint every element in his songs, from the moment he first sits down at the piano to the final touches in the studio.

Panama’s previous EPs and singles (“Jungle”, “Stay Forever”) have amassed millions of streams between Spotify and SoundCloud and received significant airplay on Triple J BBC Radio 1.

FREEDOM FRY – PARTY DOWN (Alt/Indie – US)

Los Angeles based French-American duo Freedom Fry are sharing more dancey tunes from their recently released EP, Strange Attraction. This new release veers away from the alt-folk of their previous works to venture into indie-pop, full of glowing synth lines, funky guitars and catchy vocals.

On “Party Down”, the mood is festive and you will have a hard time not tapping your feet (or even singing along). Marie Seyrat and Bruce Driscoll’s perfectly complementary vocal interplay adds to the overall very polished production. This track is definitely a well-crafted pop song that’s hard to get enough of, and luckily there’s more where this came from with Strange Attraction‘s title track.
