Wayfarer// is a product of the burgeoning production and beats scene from Melbourne, Australia. Joining the city’s growing output of musician-producers who meld dusty samples with live instruments and synths, Wayfarer// is building a new unique sound. His brand new tune “Broken Wire” features guest vocals by fellow Melburnian singer/songwriter Will Cuming aka LANKS.
In 2016, the stunning remixes he produced for LANKS (‘Golden Age’) and Woodes (‘Daggers & Knives’) helped put the young beat-maker on the radar, getting a few mentions on trend-setting blogs downunder, as well as some airplay on Triple J. Since the beginning of the year, he has released three singles and racked in over 100K plays on SoundCloud — and counting!

Having spent years embedded in collaborative projects, Brooklyn-based artist Xan Young is now flying solo, with a project that represents his unadulterated voice, the product of years of maturation in experimental pop and club music.
Sonically, his new track “Honest” thumps with a driving bassline topped by crystalline soulful vocals and waves of blazing synthesizers. Young showcases his talent as both a songwriter and producer on this new release.

Stockholm-based multitalented artist Johan Angergård (one half of Club 8, one fourth of Acid House Kings, one half of Pallers) returns with his 6th album as The Legends. “Nightshift” is an album brimful of lazy space-funk, electro-noir, and retro pop frenzy, and it represents a change in direction after 2009’s noise-pop debut LP Over And Over and 2015’s fragile and romantic It’s Love.
The album sees Angergård taking full ownership of his solo project, bringing The Legends on to his label Labrador Records (home to Pallers, Club 8, The Radio Dept. and more). “I’m more self-confident today,” he explains, “and figured I might as well go all DIY again.”
On this third LP the artist embraces his inner tech geek with a heavy dose of vocoders and analogue synthesizers. The new 16-track collection was inspired by the funkiest electronic music he could find: “I love Futurism. I love the dynamism of modern technology. I love the endless possibilities… ‘Nightshift’ might be a night album, but it’s lit up by neon.”

Rising Australian multi-talented artist Golden Vessel (born Max Byrne) is back with “Shoulders”, the latest preview of his second EP. Released in collaboration with Exist Recordings (a label founded by none other than The Kite String Tangle), “Shoulders” sees the Brisbane-based producer venture further into soundscapes mixing sultry R&B and future electronica with a sprinkling of hip-hop edge.
Influenced by Flume, James Blake or Chet Faker, Byrne’s smooth blend of bouncy down-tempo beats and wonky synths create the perfect backdrop for some seriously infectious vocals provided by fellow Brisbanites, and accomplished artists in their own right, Elkkle and Mallrat. A match made in heaven if there ever was one!
