FREEDOM FRY – THE WILDER MILE (Indie – US)

Freedom Fry

Freedom Fry is the musical alter ego of French songstress Marie Seyrat and American multi instrumentalist Bruce Driscoll, who together make pulsing sun-soaked indie pop you just want to play on repeat on a breezy summer afternoon. Their latest offering “The Wilder Mile”, released on August 5th, is just that kind of song…

Featuring Seyrat and Driscoll’s perfectly entwined vocals, this new song is a playful indie pop gem with an undeniable retro vibe. Since their last releases, the pair have built their own home studio and have written and recorded an album’s worth of new music which they intend to release track by track over the next few months. So keep an ear out for more!

PSAPP – WHAT MAKES US GLOW (Folktronica – UK)

Psapp met over a decade ago in a basement filled with instruments, makeshift percussions, second-hand bits and bobs and homemade sound creations (like a marimba made from bones) and they have been music ever since. On their long-awaited new album (nearly four years in the making), the London-based duo take to a joyous place filled with hand claps, heartfelt melodies and layers of delightful vocals.

Psapp - Wet Salt

Psapp’s fourth full length album is a magical and decidedly experimental venture, that will undoubtedly bolster the reputation of one of the bands that helped define the sound of folktronica (think Tunng or Half Cousin). A truly unique collection of songs!

MATT CORBY – RESOLUTION (Alt/Folk – Australia)

Matt Corby

Australian singer songwriter Matt Corby recently premiered his new song “Resolution” and to say this release is highly anticipated is an understatement! Written in a little dingy LA apartment earlier this year, this is yet another beautiful tune from the young dreamy-eyed artist, showcasing his powerful vocals and amazing songwriting talent.

With already four independent EPs under his belt, Matt Corby scored a major hit in 2011 with his stunning single “Brother” and 2012 saw his cover of The Black Keys “Lonely Boy” receive millions on views on YouTube.

“Resolution” is the first taste of Matt Corby’s forthcoming debut album, which should be released before the end of the year. For more info, check out his official site or Facebook. Buy the music on

AMARANTE – UDANA PRANA (Indie/Folk – US)

Husband and wife duo Amarante, aka Jysi and Josh Hewitt, have been creating, recording and producing their music themselves in Fresno, CA, since 2011. Their new album Udana Prana opens the door to new musical directions, adding touches of folk and hints of acoustic pop to their subdued ambient sound.

LOCAL NATIVES – HUMMINGBIRD (Indie/Rock – US)

Local Natives

Local Natives released their sophomore album Hummingbird on January 29th via Frenchkiss Records. This highly awaited follow-up to their hugely successful 2009 debut Gorilla Manor was produced by The National’s Aaron Dessner, who also performs and contributes songwriting on the record. Stream it in full on SoundCloud.

If Gorilla Manor certainly had moments of charming quirky greatness, the Silver Lake quartet (bassist Andy Hamm left the band in 2011) have really upped their game on Hummingbird. More confident and introspective than ever, Local Natives deliver a sparkling 11-track album that is both grandiose contemplative, effortlessly mixing soaring vocals, rolling drums and heavily wrought atmospheric arrangements.
