After announcing the release date for their debut EP Visions IV (due August 25), Aussie indie-electro act Nocturnal Tapes offer up another taste of their new record with the single ‘Wake Up’ – recorded and produced by the duo themselves at their home studio and mixed by Adrian Breakspear (Gang of Youths, Cosmos Midnight, Kučka).
New cut ‘Wake Up’ is an intricate slice of house-infused electronica which glides along effortlessly blending organic and electronic instrumentation, and culimnates with the soaring vocals of front man, Harry Suttor.
Since their 2016 inception, Nocturnal Tapes have released a slew of tracks strongly embraced by the likes of triple j, ABC’s Rage, community radio and worldwide blogs; which resulted in a top twenty position on the esteemed Hype Machine charts.

Techno pop project Estradarada started in Ukraine back in 2015 when Alexander Khimchuk (former member of Махно Project) decided to work with Vyacheslav Kondrashin on some new music. Fast forward to 2017 and the duo is now one of the most popular acts in the country with one of the biggest YouTube hits so far this year. The video for their single ‘ВитеНадоВыйти’ has been viewed over 30M times in 6 months and streamed almost 1M times on SoundCloud.
Estradarada describe their musical style as a mix of tecnho, nudisco, deephouse, soul, synthpop and electronica which can be played both on crowded dance floors or in chilled-out house parties. On ‘Вите Надо Выйти’ the fat bass and big beats provide a dance-worthy background on which are laid ironically dreamy and absurd lyrics.
The song is taken off the album Дискотека Века which you can stream and/or download on
Enigmatic New York-based project R. Missing unveiled their debut EP last March to great reviews. Released via Terminal Echo, Unsummering explores shadowy soundscapes filled with gloomy synth lines, moody beats and hazily deadpan vocals.
Sometimes compared to The Knife, Austra or Velvet Underground, R. Missing is the latest musical venture from indie band The Ropes. Under this new moniker, vocalist Sharon Shy and musician Toppy expand on their previous palette of nihilistic Morrisey tinged lyricism and go one shade darker. Musically, fraught guitar and synth textures paint an image of an unstable world, held together only by tightly programmed electronic drum beats.
You can follow R. Missing on Facebook and SoundCloud. The Unsummering EP is available for purchase on Bandcamp.
L.A.-based alternative duo Powers recently premiered “Heavy”, a new track taken off their upcoming debut album, Alpha, which is due out later this year on Republic Records. With its late 70’s New York bass line and deliciously retro string arrangements, “Heavy” is a bittersweet number about the struggle of relationships and how toxic they can sometimes be. It’s a “battle between logic and desire” says vocalist Crista Ru, who co-founded Powers with co-vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Mike Del Rio back in 2014.
For Powers, bringing songs to life means tapping into their own eclectic backgrounds from playing in underground punk bands in New York City to co-writing for the likes of Kylie Minogue and Selena Gomez. Citing the cut-and-paste art of Robert Rauschenberg and Terry Gilliam among their longtime influences, they’ve taken a collage-like approach to constructing crystalline pop.

Fenech-Soler released their new album ZILLA on February 3rd on So Recordings. Three years in the making, the band’s third studio album is chock full of bold, shimmering pop gems, which herald a thrilling new chapter for brothers Ben and Ross Duffy.
Loaded with personality and pockets of experimentation, ZILLA is inspired by disco, old soul vocal harmony groups and an unwavering love of pop music. While previous albums have seen the duo collaborate with the likes of Tim Goldsworthy and Starsmith, this album is much more organic, with most of it self-produced.
Fenech-Soler have been touring for the past couple of months, bringing their new tunes to fans across Europe the US. More dates have just been announced in April in May, check out their official site or Facebook for more info. Buy the new album now on
