FRAMES – SLOW (Electro/House – Australia)

Based in the vibrant Sydney suburb of Surry Hills, Frames is the newest signing to clubby Aussie label Sweat It Out Music. A couple of months ago, the young beat-maker dropped an almost unrecognizable remix of Kylie Minogue‘s major international hit “Slow”, featuring a super sexy bass line and totally re-pitched vocals. The result is a smooth as hell poolside jam, evoking sunny days, spilled sunscreen and pina coladas in plastic cups.

On remix duties is local Sydney producer Moonbase Commander who contributes an even slower and sexier rework of the rework, wrapped in layers of electro goodness. Both the original and the remix have already received massive support from Tensnake, Anna Lunoe, LancelotBag Raiders, RÜFÜS or Yolanda Be Cool.

This cool EP alone isn’t enough to get you going? What about a couple of smooth and smouldering remixes Frames whipped up for your listening pleasure? Check out his edits for Dune and Architecture in Helsinki

RÜFÜS – REMIXES (Electro/House – Australia)

Over the past twelve months or so Aussie three piece RÜFÜS have built a solid reputation as Sydney’s best purveyors of highly volatile, indie dance beats. Euphoric, moody and deliciously low-fi, their compositions have been hailed by critics and embraced by thousands of dreamy-eyed, hips swaying fans. Their latest release is the Summer + Selena Remix EP, available now through Continental Records and it should definitely earn a few extra followers…

Rüfüs - This Summer (RUFUS Remix)

The EP features five superb remixes courtesy of Parachute Youth, JBAG, Softwar, Lancelot and Frames, as well as a rework of “This Summer” by Rüfüs themselves. If there was ever a good time to revisit some of the trio’s best remixes, it is now! Check out a little selection below or click here and here for more…

RÜFÜS – THE BLUE EP (Indie/Dance – Australia)

Since the release of their debut EP last year, Sydney-based indie dance trio Rüfüs has been flooding the internets with waves of unrelentingly infectious tunes and touring incessantly across Australia, even earning a support slot for Röyksopp. Now they are back with a new EP, simply entitled Blue, released last week on April 6th via Gigpiglet.

Rüfüs are now streaming three tracks off the EP on their SoundCloud page and they set the standard pretty high! With a generous helping of euphoric beats, bucketloads of icy synths, and Tyrone Lindqvist’s echoing vocals sprinkled on top, these new songs more than fulfill the hopes that critics and bloggers had placed in the young Aussies.

Note that beside their original tracks, Rüfüs have also produced remixes for the likes of New Navy, Elizabeth Rose, Gotye and Joelistics, and the band’s own songs have in turn been remixed by SymbolOne, Germany Germany, Beaumont or Frames.

LANCELOT – WE CAN DANCE (Electro/Disco – Australia)

After posting a free track to his SoundCloud (“Spoken Word”) a couple of weeks ago, Lancelot has just shared a new track taken off his highly awaited debut EP We Can Dance, which drops on February 20th via Binary Label. Once again the Sydney-based artist is giving the song away absolutely for free, so don’t be shy, go ahead and download it here.

Lancelot - We Can Dance (Frames Remix)

The remix comes courtesy of Frames, a young Sydney producer who won the recent Architecture in Helsinki “Escapee” remix comp. Frames adds a pinch of disco, chilled synths and a housier groove to the mix… Pretty brilliant!

While you’re at it, why don’t you grab another freebie for the road? Here’s Lancelot’s great rework of Matt Corby‘s 2011 hit “Brother”…
