UK synth pop diva Little Boots has just shared the video for ‘Get Things Done’, the latest single taken off her new album Working Girl. The video was directed by designer and artist Nova Dando, who was the stylist for La Roux, Klaxons and The Gossip and has also directed videos for The New Sins or Bloc Party. and the whole team involved. Check it out below and shake off the post-weekend dullness.
Victoria Hesketh, aka Little Boots, unveiled her new album Working Girl a couple of days ago to generally positive reviews (4 **** from Q Magazine, The Times, The Telegraph). This third full-length is also quite a statement for the synthpop diva turned business woman who, having left behind the major label machine, now runs her own label On Repeat Records. Hence the title and the song “Working Girl”, which was written with fellow On Repeat associate Tom Aspaul and one of the UK’s most sought after producers Grades.
This new album was produced by Jas Shaw of Simian Mobile Disco, Ariel Rechtshaid, Patrick Lukens, MNDR‘s Pete Wade, and Com Truise. Filled with her signature icy synths, airy vocals and well-crafted catchy melodies, the 13-song LP might not be an extremely adventurous album but it delivers the kind of sugar pop with hints of nineties dance music one expects from Little Boots.
The Working Girl Tour kicked off in style with a sold-out London show last week, featuring special guest Femme. The tour will be continuing across the USA starting in LA and closing in Washington, calling in San Francisco, New York and Boston on the way.
After the success of sophomore album Nocturnes, English electro-pop singer Little Boots is back with the brand new Business Pleasure EP, which is now available in its entirety via her own label On Repeat Records. Title track “Business Pleasure” was produced by Com Truise but the EP also features collaborations with Simian Mobile Disco‘s Jas Shaw and Chris Carmouche (who has worked with Aluna George, Major Lazer and others).
Little Boots is currently hard at work on her new album, which should be ready for release in early 2015, so we can expect more icy synths and intergalactic beats in the new year. In the meantime, let’s revel in the delicious sounds of Manchester band MDNGHT’s fantastic remix of “Satellite”.
Little Boots releases a brand new tune taken off her sophomore album Nocturnes, coming May 2013. The song is called “Motorway” and it is produced by superstar producer Tim Goldsworthy. “Motorway” is a lovely blend of disco pop and 90s house music, featuring glitzy synths, lush textures and a killer sing along chorus. Stream it below and download it for free right here.
Hailed by critics as one of the brightest new music stars of the last few years, English singer/songwriter Little Boots (real name Victoria Hesketh) plays a blend of electrifying disco pop influenced by 90s dance music and 80s new wave. She had been off the radar for a while but she is back with a huge new single entitled “Shake”, taken off her forthcoming sophomore album (coming early next year).
This new song has the bright energy and the sing along choruses Little Boots has us used to, with some extra heavy bass and deliciously retro production. “Shake” is released on limited edition collector’s vinyl and digital download, backed with remixes from Azari & III and Crazy P.
For the time being, here’s a little bonus for your listening pleasure. Check out Little Boots’ 2008 single “Stuck on Repeat” revisited by remixer extraordinaire Fake Blood. Don’t even try to fight the urge to get up and dance…
