Australian folk singer/songwriter Matt Corby is back after two long years of silence. His new single “Monday” was shared with fans via SoundCloud and premiered on Triple J on October 1st. Though it sounds rich and full-bodied, it is exclusively made of sounds produced by Corby’s body and voice. No guitars, not even a kick drum.
This new song is the first taste of Corby’s forthcoming debut album, which was almost fully written and recorded in the coastal town of Berry and will be dropping early next year. The young musician explains that “Monday” is “a song about being able to appreciate where you are, being mindful, and thinking that maybe you don’t need much to depend on or define yourself by, you just need to enjoy the fact that we all get to share this single lifetime together.”
Corby will be heading on his first tour in two years in November (Australia, UK and US). Check out the dates and buy tickets on his official site or Facebook. Buy his music on
Australian singer songwriter Matt Corby recently premiered his new song “Resolution” and to say this release is highly anticipated is an understatement! Written in a little dingy LA apartment earlier this year, this is yet another beautiful tune from the young dreamy-eyed artist, showcasing his powerful vocals and amazing songwriting talent.
With already four independent EPs under his belt, Matt Corby scored a major hit in 2011 with his stunning single “Brother” and 2012 saw his cover of The Black Keys “Lonely Boy” receive millions on views on YouTube.

After posting a free track to his SoundCloud (“Spoken Word”) a couple of weeks ago, Lancelot has just shared a new track taken off his highly awaited debut EP We Can Dance, which drops on February 20th via Binary Label. Once again the Sydney-based artist is giving the song away absolutely for free, so don’t be shy, go ahead and download it here.
Lancelot - We Can Dance (Frames Remix)
The remix comes courtesy of Frames, a young Sydney producer who won the recent Architecture in Helsinki “Escapee” remix comp. Frames adds a pinch of disco, chilled synths and a housier groove to the mix… Pretty brilliant!
While you’re at it, why don’t you grab another freebie for the road? Here’s Lancelot’s great rework of Matt Corby‘s 2011 hit “Brother”…

Still only in his early 20s, Matt Corby has managed to carved a unique path for someone that started his career aged 16 on a reality TV talent show. In 2009, he independently released his debut EP Song For…, followed by the Transition To Colour EP in late 2010. Often compared to legendary artists such as Nick Drake and Jeff Buckley, Matt’s captivating songs continue to display a maturity well beyond his years while his live performances have become renowned for bringing large audiences to a complete stand still.

Matt Corby’s latest EP, Into The Flame, was recorded at legendary Studio 301 in Sydney with Tim Carr at the helm (Ernest Ellis, Jonathan Boulet). The first single, “Brother”, is arguably Corby’s most assured work to date, showcasing a fresh injection of cascading vocals and bluesy melodies bound together with his unique brand of folk.
