MIAMI HORROR – CELLOPHANE (Electro – Australia)

Miami Horror

Australian synth/indie/pop stars Miami Horror have long been known for their subtle mix of tropical synths, feel-good hooks and dance worthy bass lines. Their latest offering is the single “Cellophane” taken off their 2015 album All Possible Futures. Featuring Aaron Miller and Gavin Turek, the track has been remixed by Moullinex, Syre and Loframes for the single release.

Anglo-French duo Loframes (James Yuill and Franck Russo) offer their own reinterpretation of this sunny tune, adding an extra injection of sunshine and transforming the track into a sparkling house number sure to raise the temperature on dance floors worldwide.

THE PRESETS – REMIXES (Electro/SynthPop – Australia)

The Presets

In less than eight years, Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes (better known as The Presets) have worked their way up and out of the musical quagmire of Sydney’s club scene to become Australia’s foremost proponents of twisted electronic pop.

Ever since their 2003 debut EP, The Presets have enjoyed steady popular success, with their eclectic mix of electro, rock, techno, pop and a handful of other genres. It’s been three years since they made their jump to the big time with their acclaimed sophomore album Apocalypso and critics are starting to speculate as to when the next album will be released and what it will sound like.

This might just be the perfect time to give a quick roundup on some of the best remixes that have surfaced in the past few years. Now, as you can imagine there have been loads of remixes, edits and reworks of Presets’ songs by many talented artists (Simian Mobile Disco, Heartbreak, Lifelike, Jence, Cut Copy, Van She, Miami Horror, Kris Menace). For what it’s worth, here is a little selection!

CADILLAC – DREAMS EP (Indie/Electro – Australia)

Join Melbourne-based fresh new act Cadillac as they embark on their journey of endless summer. Their unadulterated disco pop will make you shake your hips and move your feet while you dream of sunny beaches and late night skinny dipping…

Cadillac have a brand new EP on the way, which is due for release on October 24th both digitally and on a double sided 12″ vinyl on Australian up-and-coming indie label Future Classic (also home to fellow Aussie hot-shots New Navy, Jeremy Glenn, Flume and Flight Facilities). As an introduction to their EP, Cadillac have shared the title track “Dreams”. It’s a brilliant piece of sun-kissed pop  featuring guest vocals by Wolf & Cub’s Joel Byrne.

Along with the new track, Cadillac recently did a super chilled out summery remix for Miami Horror‘s  2010 release “Summersun”. The remix was distributed for free on Cadillac’s SoundCloud and got wide blog coverage. Stream it below and save it to your comp by right-clicking and saving the link…

saturday nite with… MIAMI HORROR

It’s been years in the making but here comes at last Illumination, the first full length album by Melbourne-based psychedelic disco house adventurers Miami Horror.

As you might, if you are a regular reader, the band is spearheaded by Benjamin Plant (also known as Benjamin Vanguarde), a young producer /composer from Melbourne, who has knack for turning any melody into a glistening electro jewel.

Originally a one-man synthpop act, Miami Horror has turned into a full-fledged band with the addition of Josh Moriaty on guitar and vocals, Dan Whitechurch on bass, keys and sampler and Aaron Shanahan on drums.

To celebrate the release of Miami Horror’s debut album, here’s a fantastic remix of their track “Moon Theory” by British electro act Punks Jump Up

MIAMI HORROR – SOMETIMES (ElectroPop – Australia)

Miami Horror is spearheaded by Benjamin Plant (also known as Benjamin Vanguarde), a 22 year old producer /composer from Melbourne, who makes electropop with a disco-house throwback style.

He started getting international recognition DJ-ing in various high profile international events in LA, NY, Mexico and Europe as well as remixing artists like Pnau, Midnight Juggernauts, The Presets and Datarock. From being a solo project, Miami Horror ended up turning into a full-fledged live band with Josh Moriaty on vocals and guitar, Dan Whitechurch on bass, keys and sampler and Aaron Shanahan on drums.

They are currently putting the finishing touches on their debut, which should be out shortly. The album will be both a collection of songs written and produced over the past few years by Benjamin, some as far back as age 18, along with new work which the band has created together, developing a much more mature and original sound.
