BRAVESTATION – WESTERN THRILLS (Alt/Pop – Canada)

With just a couple of weeks to go now until the release of their debut full-length Giants & Dreamers, Toronto’s Bravestation unveil their new single “Western Thrills”, a delectable slice of quirky tribal pop with spaced-out guitars and colourful harmonies.

Bravestation - Western Thrills

Recorded in basements, bedrooms and at the Canterbury Studio, Giants & Dreamers is an adventurous album, filled with visions of fantasy and a future that struggles between dystopia and utopia. If you haven’t had a chance to hear it to yet, check out Bravestation’s previous single “Signs of the Civilized” remixed by Polarsets and Foxkit.

POLARSETS – EXOTICA (Indie/Pop – UK)

Polarsets

Polarsets are Rob Howe (vocals, Guitar), Mickey Smith (bass) and James Rudd (drums), three lads from Newcastle, England. Their uplifting brand of indie pop relies on fast-paced guitars, playful vocals and synths galore to give the mix its dancey electro edge. Sometimes reminiscent of Two Door Cinema ClubFenech Soler or a younger version of Friendly Fires, Polarsets have a knack for making the kind of catchy pop songs that will get all the indie kids dancing in clubs the world over.

Polarsets - Morning (Ardalan Remix)

The band’s brand new release, Exotica EP, is further proof that they are masters of crafting catchy Ibiza-channeling island vibes. Featuring four irresistibly bouncy original tracks (“Tropics”, “Distance”, “Camping” and “Summer RElated Name”), the EP is an explosion of indie pop goodness. Get your hands on it asap…

Bonus tracks: check out a couple of remixes Polarsets produced for their friends from Worship and Bravestation.

POLARSETS – SUNSHINE EYES EP (Indie/Pop – UK)

Polarsets are Rob Howe (vocals, Guitar), Mickey Smith (bass) and James Rudd (drums), three lads from Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. Their uplifting brand of indie pop relies on fast-paced guitars, playful vocals and plenty of synths to give the mix its dancey electro edge. Bringing to mind the sound of Two Door Cinema Club, Fenech Soler or a younger version of Friendly Fires, Polarsets produce the kind of punchy and addictive tunes that should guarantee them a spot on every music blog’s list of artists to watch in 2011.

Polarsets - Leave Argentina

With their freshly released Sunshine Eyes EP the three-piece shows once again that they know their way around catchy pop songs. No wonder Parisian label Kitsuné decided to endorse the trio and release the single with additional remixes by Jensen Sportag, Kel Skies, and Kid Adrift. The song is also featured on the Kitsuné Maison 11 compilation. Check out the original mix below…
