23-year-old singer-songwriter Charlotte Cardin, born and bred in Montreal, spent her childhood learning piano and taking singing lessons. Her parents introduced Charlotte and her older sister to rock ‘n’ roll on car rides and around the house. Charlotte was inspired by everyone from Radiohead to Etta James to Celine Dion, and as a teenager she started writing her own songs for fun.
Her latest effort is Main Girl, an EP featuring three songs from last year’s Canadian release Big Boy, as well as a handful of new tunes. Simple and sparse, Charlotte’s songs focus on her unique voice, and the purposely minimal production showcases her ability to craft emotionally wrought tunes that linger in the listener’s head.
“Human beings, in general, inspire me,” she says. “I find them quite intriguing. If I meet someone new and they make me feel a certain way I’m going to write about it and it’s going to transform into a story that may have not necessarily happened.”

Blue Hawaii is a recording, DJ and live project from Montreal, Quebec. Created by Alex Agor Cowan and Raphaelle Standell (one third of art rock band BRAIDS), this electronic music duo released their first EP, Blooming Summer, in 2010 and debut album, Untogether, in 2013 both via Arbutus Records. They toured Europe, Asia, and North America numerous times in 2013-14. As a result of the live shows, they became deeply interested in dance music – their performance being known for transitioning into a DJ style set with improvised material including live vocal loops and lines.
In late 2014, the duo released new single “Get Happy” and a mixtape featuring edits of old songs and new song “All of My Heart”. While Standell releases and tours with BRAIDS in 2015, Cowan continues Blue Hawaii by DJing worldwide and producing new material and remixes (including one for Tei Shi).

After four years of making music with different bands and projects, Antoine Bédard (aka Montag) thought it was time to get back to his own music but he didn’t want to release a full album. He settled for a radically new concept instead, releasing new material every month in the shape of a single, a B-side, a video and a diary-type audio entry documenting his creative process.
Montag - Trip The Light Fantastic
The project, aptly dubbed Phases, has already yielded five singles (one for each month of 2012) and a handful of remixes by the likes of Memory Tapes, Pierre Crube (of Numéro# fame), Red Idiot, James Bay or Team Ghost.
Montag - New Design (Pierre Crube Remix)
Montag has also collaborated with a few special guests, including Pierre Lapointe (“P.I.E.C.E.S”) and Graham Van Pelt (“Trip The Light Fantastic”), as well as video artist Jérémie Battaglia and Mexican graphic designer Curious Flux.
