Sydney-based electro dance trio RÜFÜS has unveiled the new single taken off their sophomore album Bloom, which was released last month via Sweat It Out / Foreign Family Collective (an outlet for musicians and visual artists curated by indie duo ODESZA). “Say a Prayer For Me” is an addictive tune with an uplifting melody and amazing hooks that will have you dancing and singing along in no time.
Back in 2012, Aussie trio Rüfüs released their first chart-topping single “Take Me”, closely followed by debut album Atlas, which went gold in Australia and got great reviews in the rest of the world. As the album shed more tracks and the guys began headlining Australia’s biggest festivals and selling out shows in cities like NYC, London, and even Moscow.
Now after spending the latter part of 2014 writing new music from a Berlin base, Jon, James, and Tyrone returned to Sydney at the start of 2015 to finish music for their 2nd album. “You Were Right” is the first song they wrote after returning home, and will be released as the album’s lead single in August.
Sydney trio RÜFÜS have been absolutely everywhere of late! In just under two years they have managed to release a solid collection of high rotation singles, produce stellar remixes for the likes of New Navy, Citizens and Gotye, as well as play sold out gigs in NYC and all over Australia. Set to release their debut album Atlas later this month on Sweat It Out, Rüfüs whet our appetites with their latest release “Take Me”, an effortlessly feel-good tune with dark undertones and a killer beat!
Described by the label as “future pop-tech in sunglasses”, the song has been receiving glowing coverage across the interwebs and crazy amounts of club support. “Take Me” comes with remixes from Bareskin, Polographia, Cassian and new Sweat It Out signing Adapt or Die. Listen to a couple of remixes below and grab your own FREE copy of Cassian’s reworking on Facebook.
Over the past twelve months or so Aussie three piece RÜFÜS have built a solid reputation as Sydney’s best purveyors of highly volatile, indie dance beats. Euphoric, moody and deliciously low-fi, their compositions have been hailed by critics and embraced by thousands of dreamy-eyed, hips swaying fans. Their latest release is the Summer + Selena Remix EP, available now through Continental Records and it should definitely earn a few extra followers…
The EP features five superb remixes courtesy of Parachute Youth, JBAG, Softwar, Lancelot and Frames, as well as a rework of “This Summer” by Rüfüs themselves. If there was ever a good time to revisit some of the trio’s best remixes, it is now! Check out a little selection below or click here and here for more…
Hailing from Sydney, 21-year-old electropop producer Elizabeth Rose is fast becoming one of 2012’s most talked-about new artists downunder. Having already released a number of self-produced demos and remixes (Jinja Safari, Flight Facilities), Elizabeth recently unveiled her first official single “Ready”, available worldwide via cutting-edge Aussie label Inertia Access.
Layering dreamy beats, shadowy samples and lofty melodies, the young artist hits just the right spot with this new track. And if the original isn’t enough, the Remix EP features four remixes by Whyte Fang, Polographia, Gold Fields and Nina Las Vegas.
Elizabeth Rose is currently putting the finishing touches on her debut EP (due for release later this year) and she will be touring around Australia with up-and-coming Sydney trio RÜFÜS in August. To celebrate, check out their remix of “Stars Ago”.
