YOUNG EMPIRES – ENTER THROUGH THE SUN (Indie/Pop – Canada)

Young Empires

Young Empires are Robert Aaron Ellingson, Jake Palahnuk and Matthew Vlahovich out of Toronto, Canada. Formed in October 2009, the trio describes their style as “world beat haute rock”. After releasing their self-produced debut EP online and getting the song “Glory of the Night” featured on Parisan fashion/music label Kitsune’s Maison 10 Compilation in 2010, Young Empires are now poised to release their highly anticipated debut album.

Young Empires - Rain of Gold

“Enter Through The Sun” is the first single from the band’s forthcoming debut full length Wake All My Youth, scheduled for release on January 31st 2012.

With support slots for Jamiroquai, Dragonette, Japandroids or Sleigh Bells and exhilarating remixes for Sunday Girl, French Horn Rebellion and Two Door Cinema Club under their belt, it’s only a matter of time before Young Empires reign supreme.

SUNDAY GIRL – STOP HEY (ElectroPop/Club – UK)

In just under a year, Sunday Girl (aka Jade Williams) has made huge steps within the music industry. The aspiring pop princess released her Diplo-produced debut single “Four Floors” in March 2011 and quickly found her place amongst the recent wave of synth-friendly feisty female artists (think Ellie Goulding, La Roux, Bat for Lashes or Robyn).

As a result of her growing popularity, her music started to get remixed left, right and center by some of the UK’s hottest acts. After conquering alternative and commercial radio stations around the country, she conquered the dancefloors with her unstoppable grooves…

Sunday Girl - Stop Hey (Rusko Remix)

Now signed to Polydor, Sunday Girl’s new single “Stop Hey” is already gaining momentum. The download bundle, released in February, boasts no less than five remixes by the likes of Villa, Slof Man and Rusko!

saturday nite with… SUNDAY GIRL

Sunday Girl is the solo project of Jade Williams, a rising, 21-year-old singer from a small commuter town outside London called Broxbourne. Often compared with Ellie Goulding, Sunday Girl is a strong addition to the current wave of synth-friendly feisty female artists such as La Roux, Bat for Lashes or Little Boots.

Sunday Girl - Four Floors (Russ Chimes Remix)

Sunday Girl’s first single, “Four Floors”, has the unstoppable catchiness of a very good pop song. This self-penned tune is supported by trendy synthpop arrangements and a strong strings section. On production duties we find no other than Diplo!

Sunday Girl - Self Control (Fenech-Soler Remix)

Judging from the tracks on her MySpace, it is clear that Jade Williams has found her own sound. Melancholic yet uplifting, her sound is hitting hard around the blogosphere and winning her fans all over Europe.

On her forthcoming album, Stop Hey, Sunday Girl will be working with star producers Diplo and Jim Elliot (a favourite of Kylie  Minogue and Ladyhawke). If it’s as good as what she’s released so far, chances are we’ll be seeing Jade’s pretty face a lot in the next few months.
