Danish trio WhoMadeWho have curated the new edition of Get Physical’s Body Language compilation. The 17th instalment in the series comes after WhoMadeWho made their debut on the German label with single “Ember” last year. Their contribution to Body Language is the brand new exclusive track “Hi & Low”.
WhoMadeWho have been shuffling genres ranging from electro to funk to dance music since 2005, first for Gomma, then Kompakt, before signing to Get Physical (drummer and producer Tomas Barfod also has an extensive solo discography, including singles “Busy Baby” and “Happy”). “Hi & Low” comes with remixes from M.A.N.D.Y, Emanuel Satie, Konstantin Sibold and Mineo.
WhoMadeWho‘s new album, Brighter, is currently making quite a splash on the indie dance/nu-disco scene, and it couldn’t be more deserving. This is the Danish trio’s second album in less than 12 months (their mini-album Knee Deep came out in April 2011) and it shows their evolution towards a darker sound, increasingly influenced by techno and deep house, particularly on the vocal-driven “Never Had The Time.”
The band is now giving their fans an opportunity to put their own spin on the track through a Beatport-sponsored remix competition. If you want to win a pair of AIAIAI headphones, grab the stems on Beatport, mix ’em up your way and upload your submission back onto Beatport before May 7th…

Not enough? Still want more? Well here is a bonus track off the trio’s new album. It’s called “Below The Cherry Moon” and it’s simply sublime. Enjoy!
On the heels of their mini-album Knee Deep, released last April, Copenhagen’s WhoMadeWho recently announced the imminent release of their third LP, called Brighter. The trio originally planned to put out this new album at the end of 2011 but it has been re-scheduled for February 27th 2012. The amazing first single “Inside World” will be out on January 23rd via Kompakt and, as a B-side, it will include an acoustic version, featuring John Grant on vocals.
In the meantime, watch the video for WhoMadeWho’s previous single “Every Minute Alone” right here and check out their beautiful remix of Gothenburg’s own Wildbirds & Peacedrums single “My Heart” below.

Having parted ways with long-time label Gomma Records, Danish trio WhoMadeWho make their Kompakt debut with Knee Deep, a sombre inward-looking record that slides toward chillier, moodier dance rock.
At eight songs (plus a bonus track), Knee Deep is being billed as a mini-album, which should be followed later this year by a brand new full-length featuring more melodic and upbeat songs. To be continued…
WhoMadeWho are a Danish indie rock/dance-punk band from Copenhagen founded 2003 by falsetto voiced bassist Tomas Høffding coming from the Scandinavian rock underground, singer songwriter/guitarist Jeppe Kjellberg from the avantgarde jazz scene (with beard to match), and drummer Tomas Barfod – who also records as Tomboy – a rising star of electronic music.
Besides a number of 12” singles on German disco label Gomma Records and remixes for other artists, the band’s first full release was their self-titled debut, WhoMadeWho.
Their second album, The Plot, was released on February 24 2009. It showcases WhoMadeWho’s futuristic, danceable rock sound, always two steps ahead of musical trends.
