BASTILLE – DISTORTED LIGHT BEAM (Alt/Electro – UK)

English indie pop band Bastille started out as a solo project by lead vocalist Dan Smith back in 2010, but later expanded to include keyboardist Kyle Simmons, bassist and guitarist Will Farquarson and drummer Chris “Woody” Wood. After releasing their debut single and EP independently, the band quickly signed with Virgin Records and released their debut album, Bad Blood, which shot to number one on the UK albums charts.

In February 2022, Bastille released their fourth studio album, Give Me the Future, preceded by the single “Distorted Light Beam”. Co-written and co-produced with Ryan Tedder, the song shows a different sound from the band’s previous works, featuring heavy beats, layered synths and cool vocoder that builds wonderfully throughout.
