FEIERTAG – COLORBALL (Electronica/House – Netherlands)

Active since 2015, Dutch drummer and producer Feiertag makes music that’s electronic yet warm, with sophisticated arrangements and a penchant for fragments of live instruments. Over the years, he has worked with a varied range of international vocalists, such Oli Hannaford, Falle Nioke, WAAN or Noah Slee, and released about a dozen EPs and two full length albums: Roots (2023) and Time to Recover (2021).

Building on from his previous work, Feiertag’s single “Colorball” is something altogether more intricate and club oriented. Murky synths and pads make way for indecipherable yet irresistible vocals that build together to a very satisfying climax.

“I felt like I wanted to focus more on my live set and having ‘secret weapons’ that work on stage,” Feiertag explains. “My goal was to have a kind of simple sounding hypnotic groove where you can discover subtle elements along the way.”
