FUEL FANDANGO + MALA RODRIGUEZ – IBALLA (HipHop/Electro – Spain)
Spanish duo Fuel Fandango (producer Alejandro Acosta and singer Cristina Manjón) team up with Latin Grammy Award-winning Andalusian rapper Mala Rodriguez (aka La Mala) on their new single “Iballa”. Taken off the duo’s forthcoming EP, this track was inspired by 15th century Canarian warrior Iballa who took part in an uprising against the local landlord and it pays homage to women’s spirit, strength and resilience.
Fuel Fandango’s new EP, titled Romances, has been conceived as a series of collaborations (“romances”) with a range of artists from vary different musical backgrounds, from flamenco to folk or electronica. Nita and Ale explain that they wanted to merge these multiple influences with their own style and find “a common essence, making it something unique, free and without labels.”
“Iballa” comes with an evocative black and white video directed by Juan Castillo Lantarón. Watch below!
