MOLOKO – STATUES (Indie/Dance – UK/Ireland)

Anglo/Irish duo Moloko are back with their unmistakable sound! Following 2000’s Things to Make and Do, they return with an album that is more dance-oriented than its predecessor but retains its organic feeling. With Statues artistic partners and former lovers Róisín Murphy and Mark Brydon share ten songs that describe the various emotional milestones in a romantic relationship (or rather as it comes apart).

As you may remember, the band emerged in 1995 with their debut album Do You Like My tight Sweater and broke into the mainstream a few years later when “Sing It Back” was remixed by house music producer Boris Dlugosch. The track was a massive hit in Ibiza and this remixed version broke into the top-five of the UK singles chart in 1999, eventually appearing on over a hundred music compilations.
