VALLIS ALPS – SET IT OFF, SET IT RIGHT (Pop/Electronica – Australia)

Blending down-tempo, piano-driven melodies with 80’s pop synths and hip-hop influences, Sydney-based independent electronic act Vallis Alps is the brainchild of vocalist Parissa Tosif and producer David Ansari. Originally from Seattle (Ansari) and Canberra (Tosil), the pair met in Israel during their gap year in 2010. Since releasing their independent self-titled debut EP in Jan 2015, the duo’s mesmerising tunes have clocked over 2 million SoundCloud plays and the single “Young” became a hit, ultimately placing at number 27 on that year’s Triple J Hottest 100.

Vallis Alps were nominated for Triple j Unearthed’s Artist of the Year, included as a feature artist on FBi Radio feature artists and included as Zan Rowe’s ‘Song You Need To Hear’. A pair of singles, 2016’s “Fading” and 2017’s “East,” heralded the duo’s sophomore EP, Fable, in March 2017. Now they are gearing up for the release of their debut album Cleave, which be drop on out August 24th 2023.
