One of the best acts to come out of Belgium in recent years, Warhola is the moniker of Oliver Symons, a multi-talented musician who writes, produces, and performs mind-bending synthpop with fantastic vocals. Co-produced by Symons and Wouter Souvereyns, Warhola’s new single “Jewels” features Wouter Souvereyns on bass, guitar and live percussion and Moreno Claes on bass.
For the video, Danish director Anders Malmberg created a dark universe inhabited by bejewelled gymnasts. Check it out below!

Australian electronic duo Nocturnal Tapes has only been working together for about 2 years but their musical palette is quite broad, with influences ranging from hip-hop, blues and funk, to psychedelic, electronic and dance. New single “Pieces” sees them significantly progress by introducing Tech-house influences, drawing inspiration from Caribou, The Presets and LCD Soundsystem.
With solid 4/4 beats, escalating arpeggio and vocals awash with reverb, the track shines a different light on the band’s creative depth but their pop sensibilities and smart approach to songwriting still remain intact.
Bonus track: “Superficial Light”
With more new material up their sleeve, this is an act to keep an eye on in the coming months. Find out more on their Facebook or SoundCloud. Buy the music on
Slow Club is Sheffield boy-girl duo Charles Watson (guitar, vocals, piano) and Rebecca Taylor (drums, vocals, guitar). Created in 2005, the band signed with Moshi Moshi Records and released their debut album Yeah So in 2009.
In 2014 they produced their most ambitious and complete record yet, Complete Surrender, touching on everything from Motown to the immaculately produced pop of the 1970s. Equally influenced by Frankie Valli and David Bowie the album sounded like an instant classic, something so familiar and timeless it’s difficult to believe it wasn’t recorded 30 years ago.

“Drug Money” is the debut single from Avante Black, a project led by 22-year-old Swedish singer/songwriter Ottilia, alongside fellow Swede Emil on guitar, Italian bass player Gabs and British drummer Dean. Produced in London by Luke Smith (Foals, Petite Noir, Depeche Mode), the release is the band’s first new tune since signing a global deal with PIAS electronic imprint Different Recordings.
With a distorted sound and dreamy vocals, Avante Black create an atmospheric vibe that meets a rhythmic drumbeat. “Drug Money” caused a storm at the end of last year and it has now received the remix treatment, courtesy of Anna Of The North, the music project of Norwegian singer Anna Lotterud and producer Brady.

Australian singer songwriter Lisa Mitchell released her third album, Warriors, in October 2016. Sonically different from her previous works, this new LP was produced by Eric Dubowsky (who has worked with Flume and Chet Faker). “We really got rid of a lot of guitar and piano in this album,” she explains, “I was interested in someone doing a different thing than what I’d done in the past.”
Directed by award-winning Australian director and writer, Vanessa Gazy, the video for “Warhol” is Part One of a story that spans over both this song and “Warriors”. Watch both videos below!
