Rising Swedish pop artist Ellen Krauss has only been releasing music for a little over a year, but she has already garnered praise from music icons Carly Rae Jepsen, Max Martin, and Laleh and received the Rookie Artist of the Year Award at the Denniz Pop Awards in Sweden. With her self-taught talent and captivating way of delivering norm-challenging messages, the outspoken 20-year-old pop promise is a fresh example of the young DIY generation and she brings a depth of understanding to her music far beyond her years.
Krauss released her highly-acclaimed debut, First Take, in November 2019 and followed it up with a string of singles in the first months of 2020. This July sees the release of her new five-track EP, Pearl, which features fan favourites ‘Bali’ and ‘Silver Spoon’, as well as new single ‘New York’ and previously unheard cut ‘Often’. With this new work, the young artist sets herself as a bright and forward-thinking paragon of pop brilliance.
She explains: “Pearl is my treasure that I have been working on for a long time explains Ellen. It is a collection of songs that are warm to my heart, written during both good and bad moments in my life. I’ve been carrying the music with me for a long time and I’ve been looking forward to sharing them, so it feels good that it’s finally time!”
