Member of Hot Chip, 1/2 of the 2 Bears, songwriter, producer, DJ, Grammy award nominated remixer and co-founder of the Greco-Roman label, Joe Goddard is a man of many hats. Following hot on the heels of singles ‘Lose Your Love’ and ‘Music Is The Answer’ he recently released his brilliant new album Electric Lines via Greco Roman / Domino Records.
The title refers to the colourful cables that link the modules in his Eurorack synthesizer and to the invisible wires that run between all the different kinds of electronic music that he loves. An apt title for a record which brilliantly unites the strands of his prolific career.
Combining an unquenchable thirst for experimentation, an instinctive understanding of the dancefloor and a love of left-of-centre pop music, Electric Lines confirms Joe Goddard’s place in the front rank of British producers.

Bones is the fourth studio album released by American musician Son Lux (a.k.a. Ryan Lott), who first came to public knowledge in 2008 with his breathtaking debut, At War With Walls and Mazes, followed by We Are Rising in 2011. Released in October 2013 via Joyful Noise Recordings, Lott’s third album Lanterns has spawned a handful of very successful singles, including “Alternate World” (stream below).
The song features guest vocals from Ieva Berberian, Cameron Schenk, Aaron Strumpel and Shara Worden, which provide a counterpoint to Lott’s raspy vocals. Other guests include Chris Thile on the mandolin and Christopher Wray on pedal stell and bass.

After a busy summer performing at key festivals such as Bestival, Parklife and Lovebox, Bristol-based production duo Icarus return with new track “They Are Not Like You”. This emotionally charged cut sees the brothers further refining their skills, building on the sound they developed on recent tracks “October” and “Home”.
“They Are Not Like You” kicks off with a simple looped refrain and this hypnotic voiced slowly gives way to the main vocals. The lush production features a burbling distorted bassline and Icarus’s trademark syncopated live percussion. The result is one of their finest moments to date, further cementing their sound.
Icarus will be announcing a new autumn tour very soon. Follow them on Facebook for more info and check out their music on SoundCloud. Buy the new single on
Moderat are Modeselektor and Apparat, two electronic music heavyweights who have brought IDM from Berlin to the farthest flung corners of the world for the past 10 years. Released last April, III is the third and final installment in their trilogy of dystopian albums. One standout track from the album came as the song “Running,” which has since been making its rounds in the remix world.
The song’s sonic palette spans intricate percussions, cascading synths, a driving kick drum and a wealth of feel-good vibes. This is a highly emotive kind of pop, built for dancing, but never simple. As described by Sascha Ring (aka Apparat), “Running is about being part of a mass. A mass that constantly needs to move to function, but one that’s not deciding directions by itself.”
