PNAU – CHAMELEON (Dance/Electro – Australia)

Pnau

Australia’s most loved electronic act PNAU is back with “Chameleon”, their first single in 4 years. This new electrifying tune is produced by Sam Littlemore (co-producer of PNAU’s 2007 self-titled album and now an integral part of the band) and features the addition of Kira Devine, previously a dancer and back-up singer for Lauryn Hill, on vocals bringing a new layer to the band’s vision.

To know PNAU is to know that their creative process cannot be bundled into just one song and this is why the single comes with a handpicked selection of remixes courtesy of some of the world’s most prolific DJs.

PNAU – SOLID GROUND (Dance/Pop – Australia)

Australian electro wizards Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes have just unleashed onto the airwaves a new electrifying single titled “Solid Ground”. The duo, better known as Pnau, is gearing up for the release of their eagerly anticipated fourth album, Soft Universe, due to hit stores on July 22nd via etcetc Records.

If you were expecting some sweet remixes to go with this brand new single, you won’t be disappointed. Pnau enlisted Cassian, Adrian Lux & Blende to revamp the original track and give it some extra humph for dancefloor consumption. The remixes take the song apart and rebuild it to enhance its intricate musicality and infectious hooks. Two very different versions but pretty complementary. Judge for yourself…

PNAU – THE TRUTH (Electro/Pop – Australia)

Back after a long break, Pnau is finally announcing a new album, tentatively titled Soft Universe and scheduled for release in Summer 2011.

The Sydney based duo, made up of Nick Littlemore (who also plays in bands Teenager and Empire of The Sun) and Peter Mayes, have described the new album as “a bit Bowie, a bit Bono, and a bit Burt Bacharach”.

We’ll have to wait for a few months to find out for ourselves, but in the meantime the first single is already out and it’s pretty epic! Here it comes in two versions: version one is a sweet synthpop remix by Californian act Jump Jump Dance Dance and version two is a mean club mix by fellow Sydneysider Sam La More…

With three albums under their belt, Pnau have been in the business for well over ten years now and are considered one of Australia’s most respected electronic music acts. They released their acclaimed debut album, Sambanova, in 1999 under the Peking Duck label and were then signed to Warner Australia, who released their sophomore album. In 2007, their third effort spawned massive hits “Embrace” (with guest vocals by Ladyhawke) and “With You Forever”, both of which helped Littlemore and Mayes further their reputation in Europe and the Americas.

PNAU – EMBRACE (Electro/Indie/Club – Australia)

Pnau

Pnau is an Australian dance music duo from Sydney made up of Nick Littlemore (who also plays in bands Teenager and Empire of The Sun) and Peter Mayes. The duo released their award-winning debut album Sambanova in 1999 under the Peking Duck label and scored two major hits with the singles “Need Your Lovin’ Baby” and “Sambanova”.

After signing with Warner Music Australia, the pair started to work on their sophomore album, Again. Released in 2003, the album got pretty bad reviews and a similarly unfavorable response from fans, which led the pair to part ways for some time to work with other artist’s such as Robbie Williams, Van She, and Lost Valentinos.

When the two reunited in 2007, they wrote over two hundred songs together and started to lay down an entire album, more vocally centered than their previous more. The new self-titled album not only featured vocals from Nick Littlemore himself, but also had many guest appearances such as Luke Steele, Nik Yannika from Lost Valentinos, Michael DeFrancesco from Van She and Ladyhawke, who guested on hit single “Embrace”.
