Back in 2011, alt pop outfit Citizens! experienced a meteoric rise to fame with their high-octane debut single, “True Romance”, released via cult Parisian label Kitsuné, and subsequent debut album, Here We Are, produced by Franz Ferdinand’s Alex Kapranos.
The London-based quartet is now gearing up for the release of their sophomore effort, European Soul, scheduled this April and in the meantime they have shared a video for first single “Lighten Up”. Released digitally in late 2014, the song was recorded as part of the album sessions with producer Laurent d’Herbecourt (whose credits include Phoenix) and features remixes by Tobtok, TÂCHES, Knuckle G, Davidian, Dillistone and new Kitsuné-signing Cesare.

At only 21 years old, he has already perfected the art of mixing nu disco, house and pop in his productions and after several high-profile remixes (Lemaitre, Citizens!), Tobtok is finally ready to share his first EP. Released via uber-cool French label Kitsuné on November 17th, the Savanna EP is a gem packed EP containing three original tracks ant two gorgeous remixes.
Tropical-infused new track “Free” is a collaboration with elusive Australian duo Hoodlem and it should please all fans of laid-back beats and sun-drenched melodies. “Savanna” also gets a new vocal version featuring a stunning contribution from new startlet River and two remixes courtesy of Fillip Ilic and Keljet, who respectively add some house vibes and new disco, fitting perfectly with Tobtok’s sound.
Born in California and schooled in Boston MA, Charles I (aka Samuel Luria) started his love affair with electronic music while studying classical music at Boston College. Devoted to the promotion of dancing and a real partisan of the electro revolution, he developed his skills when he moved back to California and started working with partner BetaTraxx (formerly known as Redlight).
Together they created the blog Our Electronic Generation which was conceived as a community of producer/djs and graphic designers who want to connect with music lovers, artists, and fans on a higher level. The blog is a platform for the promotion of art, music, technology and live performance.

Influenced by electro, French house and nu-disco, Charles spent the better part of 2010 in studios recording his own material or producing remixes for others (SebastiAn, Cassius, Treasure Fingers). But this time was not spent in vain since he is now finally ready to present his long-awaited debut EP!
The Out Of This World EP, which features remixes by Tobtok, Club Soda and Steve Navaro, was released digitally last month on Stardust Records a new label featuring french house, nu disco and funky/filter/synth tunes.
