THE PENELOPE[S] – PRICELESS CONCRETE ECHOES (Electro/NuWave – France)
The Penelopes are a French dance rock band consisisting of Axel Basquiat and Vincent T. Based in Paris, the pair has played a major role in both the rock and the electronic scenes and they have released a few singles and remixes (especially for DJ Hell’s International DeeJay Gigolo Records).
Their first album The Arrogance of Simplicity came out in 2006 on Citizen Records (label created by legendary electronic artist Vitalic). Priceless Concrete Echoes showcases The Penelopes’ unique mix of shoegaze, New York disco, punk and funk, with additional production by Black Strobe’s Arnaud Rebotini.
