ACTIVE CHILD – ALL I SEE IS YOU (Electronica/Pop – US)
For Pat Grossi, the father of Active Child, the last two years have been nothing short of live changing. This LA resident released his first EP, Curtis Lane, and he has worked on perfecting his laptop-assisted bedroom indie pop sound ever since. Merging his experience as a choir boy and his epic days as a member of the band Weight Room, Grossi creates a sound that is cosmically huge and yet utterly intimate.
For his debut album, You Are All I See, released in August 2011 on Vagrant records, the young musician expanded his sonic ambitions, combining soaring vocals, triumphant synths and shimmering harp lines to draw the listener in layer by layer. Sample four songs off the album on SoundCloud and check out remixes by White Arrows and White Sea just below…
Grossi’s wide-ranging sound has been compared to the work of many notable acts such as dubstep producer James Blake, dreamy synth-pop of School of Seven Bells, or UK legends Radiohead. Give his music a go and make up your own mind…
