Elusive London producer/songwriter/artist Schulkid released debut single “Slow Dancing” digitally via Stop Being Cute on June 19th. This track takes a deep electro beat and couples it alongside diverse melodies and tribal attitude, appealing to a broad base of listeners despite never compromising on style.
Teaming up with Belgium-based singer Valair for the second time, SchulKid takes far-flung and diverse influences and distills them into a single sound unlike anything else. This uniqueness is emphasised by the fact that Schulkid remains a ‘nameless’ artist, refusing to show his face and instead using sketches on Instagram as guides to him and his art: “I have no desire to be recognized at face value, I just want people to recognize my sound in the future.”

Parisian DJ/producer Zimmer is gearing up for the release of his brand new EP next week (July 10) via Roche Musique. The four-track EP, titled Coming of Age, will include smooth and summer-ready single “Escape”, featuring gorgeous vocals from Norwegian singer Emilie Adams and bouncing tropical beats.
Zimmer just dropped new single “Heartbreak Reputation” a couple of days ago. He describes the track as something “deeper than my usual sound, with lots of space. It’s definitely more nostalgic, but it eventually becomes a bit more euphoric later on. I love that « it’s going to be alright after all » feeling”. Couldn’t agree more!

Du Tonc is the hotly tipped act consisting of Matt Van Schie (of Van She fame) and producer Mighty Mouse. They exploded onto the scene with their 2013 debut “Darkness” and set the blogosphere alight once again last January with new single “Every Song”.
Now their follow-up, “Animals”, is just as catchy and it promises another future classic using their consistent formula of potent vocals, delicate licks of 80’s synths and effortless guitar melodies. The band also points out they have “achieved a lifelong ambition of putting animal noises in a song and nothing will ever beat that feeling.”
Having already clocked up over a million plays on SoundCloud with their recent releases, Du Tonc are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut album for 2015 and will be announcing a string shows in the next months.

Frau Mai is a young Russian band with a real knack for catchy hooks and glitzy pop melodies. Hailing from the industrial city of Tolyatti, about 600km southeast of Moscow, they released their first album, Masquerade, back in 2012, clearly showing their ambition to provide the kind of tropical-flavoured indie pop that earned fellow Russian outfit Pompeya a great deal of much deserved attention. Their new single however shows a radical change in direction, with a lot less indie and a lot more disco!
The Stars EP, released a few weeks ago on Parallel Galaxy, is a collaboration with Moscow-based italo-disco virtuoso Lovinsky. It features the title track, as well as a solid collection of remixes from Kid Goodman, Anton Romezz, Yaaman and Armulik. Do yourself a favour and grab it now!
