SWEDISH HOUSE MAFIA + THE WEEKND – MOTH TO A FLAME (Dance – Sweden/Canada)

Swedish house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia and Canadian singer The Weeknd joined forces in 2021 to create the addictive dance anthem “Moth To A Flame”, which was released in October of that year as the third single from the Scandinavian band’s debut studio album Paradise Again. The song was also included as a bonus track on the “Alternate World” edition of The Weeknd’s fifth studio album Dawn FM.

In the UK, “Moth to a Flame” debuted at number 15 on the UK Singles Chart, making it Swedish House Mafia’s seventh top 20 single, and it entered the US’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart at number two with 12.9 million streams.

The song garnered critical acclaim with Pitchfork naming it the best song on Paradise Again and Robin Murray of Clash describing it as “a sizzling 80s tinged burner that places [the Weeknd] within an electronic orchestra.” Billboard‘s Starr Bowenbank compared “Moth to a Flame” to the Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights”, highlighting its synth as being menacing in a manner akin to the song.
