Originally from Austria, Manchester-based DJ and producer Salute is influenced by the French House movement and UK Garage. His music seamlessly blends electronic genres like drum and bass or breakbit, with 80s-inspired soul and even elements of Japanese jazz fusion.

“Reason” is taken off Salute’s debut album True Magic, released via Ninja Tune, which includes an impressive line-up of collaborators, such as Rina Sawayama, Karma Kid, Disclosure and LEILAH. Featuring longtime friend and executive producer Karma Kid, “Reason” begins with a sped-up soul sample, quickly giving way to bouncy guitars and an implacable bassline.
