ROOSEVELT – EMBRACE (Disco/Electro – Germany)

Acclaimed producer and songwriter Roosevelt (the stage name of Marius Lauber) has released Embrace, his brand new album and debut LP for Counter Records/Ninja Tune. Written, recorded and produced entirely by Roosevelt, it features deeply personal lyrics and emotive instrumentals that cement his status as one of Germany’s most inventive electronic talents working today. 

The follow up to 2019’s celebrated LP Polydans, Embrace crackles with buoyant energy and effortless funk. Crafted using improvised recording setups in cities around the world, Lauber immersed himself in the writing process to craft an album that sounds equally intimate and expansive, with euphoric dance floor anthems mingling with kaleidoscopic synth-laden introspective numbers.

Previously released singles “Ordinary Love”, “Luna”, “Rising” and “Paralyzed” showcase Roosevelt’s versatility as both a producer and vocalist. Speaking about Embrace, Lauber noted: “Creating the album was a bit of a nomadic experience, breaking out of the comfort zone of my home studio and recording on the road. It really challenged me to think and create in new ways. It also reminded me to embrace every situation you find yourself in and appreciate every turn you face throughout life.”
